i've seen some really sweet blades at the mantis knives website for very reasonable prices. i usually carry a spyderco military model, but that's like $175.00, and you didn't specify how much you were looking to spend. generally speaking, you get what you pay for, but there are many good blades out there for $50.00 or less. also, you should check out CRKT knives. i've owned many models, and was satisfied with all of them. just stay away from any wal-mart type knives (buck, gerber, etc) they are usually pretty crappy and won't stand up to hard use.
