Disc for sanding glass?
I have just bought a hand held Dremel style multitool. The main thing i need it for is sanding/grinding glass - i am in the process of snapping the stems of wineglasses and where i have shards and uneven edges i want to sand them flat. Basically there are loads of attachments with the tool and i'm wondering if anyone can advise me on which one would be the best? I tried the heavy sandpaper disc but all it did was produce a tiny spark and a rather unpleasant burning smell which i though probably wasn't good! What would be the best thing to use instead? I have some metal discs too and some grinding stones (heavy and lighter) along with loads of other bits and bobs.
Can anyone help? Or even advise me if there is a better option?

There are small diamond discs available for cutting. Using one of those might allow you to cut around the circumference of where you want the stem to snap, making for a cleaner cut to begin with.
There are also diamond encrusted files available for shaping tiles; not a Dremel bit, but a hand tool just like a file, but with the ability to abrade glass that's unsurpassed.
