Need to cut a shotgun barrel down?
Bought a single barrel break-action 12 ga at an auction cheap. Got it home, and realized the last 6 inches of the barrel bends slightly to the right. so I want to cut that off, shorten it to about 20-22 inches. What the best way? Pipe cutter? Hacksaw? Drummel tool?
Only paid $40 for the gun, not too too worried about it.
All methods here are kind of crude with the exception of chucking the barrel in a lathe. I have indeed cut them in a power chop saw tho. I suppose it doesnt make allot of difference how you do it was long as you can cut it square and make sure to debur the edges inside and out with a slight radius. Keep in mind your are going to actually cut of the part of the barrel that has the choke in it so when your done your gonna have an improved cylinder short barrel.
