What are black oxide drill bits for?
Can they be used to drill metal or are they just common wood drill bits? I just got a set of black oxide bits and would like to have a set of bits to drill through metal if needed and am curious if these are sufficient. They are Dewalt Black Oxide bits.

Black oxide bits are a standard twist bit with a black oxide finish. The black oxide offers superior durability and speed. These bits are rated for use on metal and you may also use them on wood or plastic.
Black oxide bits will work on steel, copper, aluminum, brass, oak, maple, mdf, pine, PVC, polycarbonate, acrylic, abs, nylon and composite materials.
As you can see black oxide drill bits are a great all around choice. You will get many years of use out of them.
