Mitsubishi Heavy constructs commercial li-ion battery test plant
Mitsubishi Heavy has completed construction of its 21,500-square-foot commercial lithium-ion battery plant. The facility, located on the same grounds as MHI's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Japan, has enough capacity to produce and validate up to 66 MWh (megawatt hours) of commercial-grade batteries per year. Construction of the facility kicked off in fall of 2009. By next month, MHI will begin on-site production of cells and start running tests to determine battery performance, operating life and other factors that could impact the feasibility of full-scale commercial production. MHI Completes Construction of Commercial Production Verification Plant For Lithium-ion Secondary Batteries
Tokyo, November 18, 2010-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has completed the construction of a commercial production verification plant for lithium-ion secondary batteries at its Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. The plant has a production capacity of 66 MWh (megawatt hours) of batteries a year, which is equivalent to 400,000 medium-size cells. Going forward MHI will verify various technologies as it aims for an early startup of full-scale commercial production.
MHI began construction of the verification plant on a 2,000 square meter site in the fall of 2009. Beginning next month, the company will launch production in order to verify factors essential for commercial production, including operation rates, tact time and battery performance. For the verification production line, MHI has integrally incorporated various technologies from its diversified business areas, including those related to slurry preparation, coating, and mass-production management knowhow from turbocharger production. The company will make its decision on full-scale commercial production next year, taking into account the market situations in Japan and overseas, future prospects, and the verification results.
Besides producing lithium-ion secondary batteries, MHI has entered into the market for the products using the battery, by leveraging the company's abundant system development knowhow. In October 2009 MHI began marketing the world's first engine/battery hybrid forklift trucks using a lithium-ion battery as the power train; which have scored significant reductions in fuel consumption. Through incorporation of lithium-ion batteries, today MHI is looking to enhance the value of its products and systems in the fields of transportation and material handling equipment, including battery-operated forklift trucks, electric buses and cranes. The company is also proposing the fujitsu laptop battery system to other manufacturers for installation as a power train in their products.
In stationary applications, MHI has developed a large-scale energy storage system using a lithium-ion battery. The company began verification of the system for application as an auxiliary power source to supplement unstable electric power supply systems overseas, and as an electricity supply grid stabilization system in a quest to promote further adoption of renewable energies such as wind and photovoltaic power.
MHI, as a comprehensive manufacturer of energy-related machinery and systems, is looking to contribute further to the attainment of an energy-saving society by focusing on development of technologies and products for electric power storage, particularly for industrial applications.

what drill is stronger?
a 7amp electric drill or an 18v rechargeable drill...like lets says 18v ion dewalt
also, is it easier to screw in screws onto hard wood with an impact drill, or normal drill

I have to use both types of drills daily, and your question is just a little tricky to answer. First of all, if you only want one drill, a good quality electric with a 1/2" key-less chuck is the only choice I'd advise anyone to spend their hard-earned cash on. You'll always have power to spare, and never a dead battery.
As for the 18 volt drill/driver, they will drive that screw just as effectively as the electric, but having the battery run out of juice half way through a job is VERY annoying. That's why I have 4, and they are ALWAYS charged. Because cordless drills (the good ones) have a gear reduction option, they give GREAT control when you need it, and that's priceless when you do. If the drill doesn't come with a "fast-charger", it's probably junk. If you're really set on buying an 18v drill/driver anyway, consider the Ryobi. I own several, and compared to every other brand that is with us on job sites, these offer the average guy the biggest bang for the buck.
As previously mentioned by the other fella, hammer drills are used exclusively with carbide-tipped masonry bits for masonry/brick/mortar/tile type jobs. Try to drive a screw with a hammer drill, and you'll never keep the driver's bit in the screw!
