how to replace 1999 chevy blazer door hinge?
drivers door sagged so bad that the latch inside broke and so did the actuator when it hit the striker($240 to replace). Just replaced both hinge pins and bushings to fix the issue but the upper hinge holes for the bushings are egg shaped and the entire upper hinge needs to be replaced but are spot welded on. Got the door off and the directions say you need to drill out the welds but the welds are on the dash side. how do you remove the hinge from the body if you cant see the spot welds? best bet so far is a reciprocating saw to cut between the hinge and the body
so I assume that the hinge half that is welded to the door frame is flat pointing to the front of the car? If this is the case you will need to remove the front fender to gain access to the welds using a drill, drilling through the hinge at the weld spots
