cut in shower. how to patch + tetanus?

Hey, I wa taking a shower today and I bent down to wash my hair (the shower head is very low). Anyways, when I was done I stood up real fast and the part of the shower that puts water in a bathtub caught my back. Now I have a circular cut with skin in the midle, like a little island (lol), and blood all around it. I wanted to ask, what is the best way to patch this up. Its not deep, just skinned. I am going to be going out today and don't want to bleed everywhere. Also, there was a very small amount of rust I saw in the shower, but I heard the bacteria only lives where there is no oxygen, so am I at risk? I washed with alchohol jusyt in case.

You could try putting a cream or spray such as polysporin, neosporin, or bacitracin on the wound. Don't use the ointments, they are too oily and thick.

Tetanus is usually found in areas without a lot of oxygen, and this is where they reproduce best. Deep puncture wounds are the most troublesome when talking about tetanus. If you say this is more of a "skinned" area than a deep puncture type wound, you probably don't need to worry too much about tetanus. Still, keep it clean & bandaged.

When was your last tetanus booster shot? You should have one at least every 5 years.
